The Daan Viljoen lodge is situated inside the Daan Viljoen Natural Willdlife Park approximately 20 kilometres from Windhoek on the C28 road. The lodge offer nineteen (19) unique African “kraal” inspired chalets with a choice of BBQ facilities at each chalets or scrumptious meals at the Boma restaurant overlooking a large swimming pool. The lodge further offers conference facilities, meeting venues, wedding facilities, walking trails and game drives inside the Park.

One of Daan Viljoen's great attractions is that visitors can walk around the park (unlike Etosha and other Namibian game parks where guests are confined to their vehicles) and there are 2 well-marked hiking trails to explore. Game viewing can be done from the comfort of the guest’s vehicles or they can book a game drive. The vegetation in the park consists of 61 plant families, 205 genera and 301 species. And with some 200 species of Namibian birdlife, Daan Viljoen Nature Reserve is a popular birding destination. All of our guests are pleasantly surprised by the abundance of wildlife; and since there are no large predators, the majestic animals are free to roam throughout the Game Park.

Sun Karros Lifestyle Safaris PTY Ltd is a niche company specializing in Public Private
Partnerships (PPPs) and Joint Ventures (JVs) within the Namibian tourism sector. A PPP is a
cooperative agreement between the public sector and the private sector to help governments
leverage the expertise and efficiency of the private sector and raise capital to spur
developments, stimulate the economy and create employment.
A key dimension of these agreements is the development of innovative tourism facilities and the
use of private financing to fund construction and operation management for an agreed period of
time. Profit is distributed equally and the facility is transferred as an asset to the
government.
Daan Viljoen Lodge is a PPP agreement between Sun Karros and Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR), a
state-owned enterprise. Sun Kaross have invested in excess of N$60 Million in the repositioning
and renovation of the Daan Viljoen Lodge and Campsites.
